Leavitt for HHS

President Bush is boosting the head of the Environmental Protection Agency , former Idaho Utah [*] Governor Mike Leavitt, as his nominee to head the department of Health and Human Services.

There had been talk of White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan's brother, Dr. Mark, stepping up as the nominee, but he will be busy running the Medicare system when that prescription drug law takes full hold in 2006.

He and his wife Jacalyn have five children, which would almost demand a nanny. Let's see what the MSM can find on that one.

Seriously, it looks like a good and safe choice.

The Department should be abolished.
* "Idaho" was a mistype. Thank you for the correction in the comments, Zach.

Leavitt was actually the former governor of Utah, not Idaho.
