Schumer might be gone after '06
Friends of Life and the Second Amendment who follow the Senate know Senator Chuck Schumer (D-New York) all to well. He's also the man who voted against Bill Clinton's impeachment in the House as a Congressman, beat Alphonse D'Amato out of his Senate seat, then voted to acquit Clinton in the Senate.
Well according to the New York Post, he might be forced to resign from the Senate after 2006. And the bad news for you New Yorkers: New York's political experts agree that he will run for the State's governorship in two years. If he wins, he must quit the Senate.
They believe this because he won a huge victory on Tuesday and because the Senate Democrats are slipping further and further out of power.
