PRE-FACE – Monday, November 15, 2004

Good morning.

  • Blogger was not functioning to allow me to post last night's AFTER-WORD. It contained a few words about the predicament of Aunt Nadjma, a teenager who finds herself in the middle of a Mosul she's never known.

    There are real people involved.

  • Michael Barone of US News & World Report writes in his Monday column about what a disaster this past election was for the "Old Media": ABC, CBS, NBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post, et al.

I think it was great news about them, if not for them, in that we've learned that they are no longer very influential. They pulled out all the stops, and their candidate still los. The media as arbiter is dead.

  • Bill Clinton's Little Rock amusement park opens this week. Eight years of complacency governed by a strangely perverse and corrupt man. Locking the problems away for another day, another President.

Let's hope all that was an anomaly, and that people have fun at the Bill Clinton Memorial and Theme Park.
