PoliAnnotation Quote of the Hour

This one is from British Home Secretary David Blunkette, commenting to BBC Radio four about U.N. General Secretary [sic, mine] Kofi Annan's letter of objection to the forthcoming assault on Fallujah:
"Obviously we have to listen to the secretary general of the UN, but I think on this occasion he is entirely wrong."
Sure, you have to listen to him. There are plenty of people who can make enough noise, so to speak, which forces us to listen; that being said, he is being disregarded.

Annan's letter, probably written to sate certain elements within the U.N., was also flipped aside by Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi and the U.S. State Department.
