Moore Gets the Hook

Virginia's George Mason University had agreed to pay Michael Moore $35,000 to speak there on October 28. State legislator Richard Black wrote to university President Alan Merten complaining that this was an "inappropriate use of state resources." Merton agreed, and Moore will not be paid.

He says he'll speak for free. The goal of his recent tour of college campuses, he says, is to register students to vote against President Bush.

We can here the catcalls of censorship, coming mostly from Moore. Utah Valley State College has booked Sean Hannity to balance Moore, which is interesting in and of itself. I don't think those two match-up very well. If I were entrusted to find a conservative to balance Moore's rhetoric, I ask for former MTV VJ Lisa Kennedy, a.k.a. "Kennedy."

He's appearing there Oct 28 and his purpose is to register students to vote?

What school did he go to?

Maybe he's borrowed Dan Rather's Tie Machine.
