In NC, Burr runs against Clinton
Republican Representative Richard Burr is running against Bill Clinton in the person of Erskine Bowles to fill the Senate seat long since vacated by John Edwards. He won't let voters forget that Bowles was a once one of the main cogs in the Clinton Administration.
Burr is aligning himself with President Bush, boasting that he votes with the Administration 96-percent of the time.
So in some ways, we have a North Carolina Clinton vrs. W. Bush contest by proxy to fill the seat of a one-termer who quit in order to run for President.
The latest on RealClear, a Survey USA, shows Burr by 2 with a margin of 4. I don't suppose Burr will ask the former President to stop by and campaign for him, given that Burr is a legacy candidate for Clinton.
