A paradise for a sect. Political notes and scattered sapience, inter alia, for libertarian-conservatives, political junkies, and other, assorted bright and curious people....
The New York Timeshas endorsedJF Kerry, trying to opine with a straight face that his candidacy has more to offer than simply "a modest improvement on the incumbent." However, they admit that "this race is mainly about Mr. Bush's disastrous tenure" and recycle that fallacious "Supreme Court handed him the election" line.
Meanwhile in Obama country, the Chicago Tribunehas endorsed President George W. Bush. Citing John McCain, they endorse the President "for his resoluteness on the defining challenge of our age--a resoluteness John Kerry has not been able to demonstrate."
The Times talked more of Kerry's erudition and ease of thought. We're fighting a war, for gawdsakes! People want to kill us. We don't need a guy who can elucidate a dozen positions on that war without breaking a sweat.
